Roots BioPack
As a result of the current legislation relating to food safety and the environment, Moon Packaging expects a significant increase in the purchase of organic products. A packaging which is also organic is available as a supplement to existing organic products (such as fruit and vegetables). This means that (organic) consumers can be offered a completely biological product.
Moonen Packaging has concluded a cooperation agreement with Roots BioPack Europe. Roots Biopack Europe is an innovative manufacturer of packaging and compostable packaging materials (in accordance with EN 13424). In addition to being biodegradable and recyclable, these packaging items are also fully compostable. These products are made from sugar cane fibres. Sugar cane is a plant which renews itself naturally a few times per year. Fossil raw materials, such as petroleum, are therefore no longer needed for the production of suitable packaging.

Moonen Packaging is the exclusive seller of these compostable packaging products, which are sold under the brand name “Roots”. The assortment is very broad and includes dishes, plates, bowls, cutlery, cups and menu dishes.
